Different parking lots are assigned to each Commencement event. Events and designated parking areas are listed below. Parking costs vary by lot.

Parking Updates Pending

We are currently working with parking and transit on our event parking plan. While we anticipate minimum changes from our Fall 2019 information below, official parking information for the Spring 2020 ceremony will post in April. 

Guest Drop-Off and Handicap Parking for All Ceremonies

  • All guest drop-off and pick-up is at the Louise and Leo Benatar Entrance, located off 10th Street.
  • Guests with a valid handicap parking tag may park on Fowler Street between 8th St. and 5th St. Limited ADA parking is available in E65.

Ph.D. Ceremony, 9-10:30 a.m., McCamish Pavilion

Parking is available in the following campus lots. Parking prices vary by lot.

President’s Graduation Celebration

Guests are encouraged to park in the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center parking deck (E81) and take advantage of our complimentary Friday shuttle service. 

Parking lot options:

Will be listed closer to the event date. 

Friday Shuttle Service to President's Graduation Celebration & McCamish Pavilion

10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
  • Shuttles will depart from the Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center turn around to take guests to the President’s Graduation Celebration.
    • The two closests parkings lots are the Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center (E81) or Centergy (E82)
  • After 1:30 p.m., no shuttles will run near the Student Center, so please plan accordingly.

12:30-6:30 p.m.
  • Shuttles will transport guests from the Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center to McCamish Pavilion.
  • This dedicated shuttle will stop operating one hour after the Friday ceremony ends.

Attending both the President’s Graduation Celebration and the Ph.D. or Master's Ceremonies?

You are encouraged to park in the Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center parking area (E81) or the Centergy lot (E82) and use the shuttles.

Master’s Ceremony, 3-5:30 p.m., McCamish Pavilion

  • E81 (Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center Lot)

  • Area 6 or Area 8 (Tech Square)

Traffic Alerts

We expect a high amount of traffic in the area. Please plan accordingly and leave extra time for parking.


  • Fowler Street will be southbound only.
    • Guests entering campus via Fifth Street or North Avenue should park in Tech Square.
    • Guests entering campus via 10th Street will be directed to E52 (Peters Parking Deck) and Area 5 (North Campus Parking Deck, located off of State Street).
  • There is no shuttle service on Saturday.
  • William Street is closed between 5th Street and 4th Street

Entering Campus

Guests are encouraged to enter campus via Techwood Drive, located off of North Avenue, using exit 249D. 

  • Traveling northbound on 75/85: Guests will take a left at the second traffic light onto West Peachtree. You may either proceed down West Peachtree to take a left onto Fifth Street for parking at Tech Square or take a left onto North Ave to enter campus via Techwood Drive.
  • Traveling southbound on 75/85: Guests will take a right off the exit ramp to enter campsu via Techwood Drive. At Fifth Street, guests may turn left to park at Klaus or Peters or turn right to park in Tech Square.

Bachelor’s Ceremonies, McCamish Pavilion

  • E81 (Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center Lot)
  • E82 (Centergy Lot)
  • Area 6 or Area 8 (Tech Square)
  • Area 5 (North Campus Parking Deck, located off of State Street)
  • ER66 (Graduate Living Lot)
  • E52 (Peters Parking Deck)

Guests are encouraged to enter campus via the North Avenue exit. 

Faculty Parking

All faculty and staff volunteers will receive a reserved parking pass two weeks prior to the event.

Parking at McCamish is extremely limited and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Faculty and staff assisting at the graduate ceremony are encouraged to walk to the ceremony.

Public Transportation

Georgia Tech is served by two MARTA transit stations. Riding Marta to Georgia Tech.

North Avenue Station

The closest station to the President's Graduation Celebration. If walking, go west for two blocks on North Avenue. The campus is located just past the interstate bridge. Continue on North Avenue until you pass Bobby Dodd Stadium and Tech Tower. The next road on your right will be Cherry Street - turn right. When Cherry Street dead ends, make a left and you will now be on Ferst Drive. Walk west less than half a mile and the Student Center will be on your right - 350 Ferst Drive. 

Midtown Station

The closest station to the Commencement ceremonies. Tech Trolley makes continuous pick-ups from the Midtown Station to campus.
